A very special UK supplied Right Hand Drive manual transmission DHC V12 E Type with matching numbers and confirmed as number six off production in 1971, Chassis number IS 1006, complemented with photographic evidence of this being the first car sold into the public domain through a dealership.
The car also comes with a Heritage Certificate, an extremely comprehensive documented rebuild statement and history file on all owners to date together with photographic and invoice records of the meticulous 100 point restoration that has just been completed. All assemblies were dismantled inspected and rebuilt to factory standards. All other parts including new wiring harnesses were replaced as necessary to maintain the high standard of restoration. Particular attention has been given to retaining originality of this early car.
The body restoration and paint was undertaken by XK Engineering, the trimming, which includes a new Mohair hood, by GB Classic Trim. The original British Leyland Motorola radio has been fully restored and now provides a modern IPOD connection. The engine has been completely rebuilt with machining carried out by Chesman Engineering and fitted with new pistons, liners, valves/ valve guides, sintered valve seats for unleaded petrol, water pump and all exhaust manifolds. The same attention to detail was given to the gearbox, rear axle and all suspension units. The car also has its original tool roll and jack. Having just finished the restoration, the car will require to be run in and regarded as a “New” car in every respect.
This car could be an important addition to a ”Private Collectors” vehicle portfolio, or for a classic car enthusiast to just enjoy in its own right with the added benefit of being a fast appreciating asset.
